I was introduced to squash (incidentally my first racquet game) in 2002. 5 years, 14 rackets and 4 stitches later I think I count myself as a die-hard squash fan. The adrenalin of a soccer match, the delicateness of a golf putt, the power of a tennis stroke, the endurance of a marathon, the strategy of a chess game...it all comes together for me in one game - squash. I picked up all my squash from the stalwarts at UCSC particularly Alfred who spent hours trying to drill some squash sense into me. This warmth, friendliness and a genuine desire to help people develop themselves via squash is what makes UCSC so special. I am delighted to be able to give back to the game and the club both of which I have come to love so much.
