We're proud that two of our young UCSC-sans, the Pang brothers, Ka Wai and Ka Hoe, were selected to represent Singapore in the recently concluded Asian Junior Individual Championships.
Ka Wai, participating in the U-19 category, lost in the first round to Muhd. Addeen Idrakie of Malaysia. However, Ka Wai gave a good account of himself against a more established player who eventually went on to finish 7th in the event. Ka Wai came close to winning the first set but lost 10-12. The next two sets weren't that far off either at 6-11, 7-11. We have no doubts that KW can only get better.
Meanwhile, younger brother, Ka Hoe, had an unfortunate draw in the U-15 category. Ka Hoe had previously beaten a number of the participants who eventually made it to the quarter-finals of this event. After receiving had a walkover India's Roshan Kumarakannan in the first round, Ka Hoe ran straight into HK's No.1, Hong Kong's Chris Lo Cheuk Hin. Ka Hoe unfortunately lost 1-3 after giving Chris a royal scare by taking the first set 11-9. The next 3 sets were close affairs with Chris Lo winning these by 11-9, 11-7, 11-7. Chris eventually finished 5th in the event. Ka Hoe then went on to win the U-15 Classic Plate Final by beating Malaysia's Darren Chan 11-9, 11-3, 11-6. We look forward to our young UCSCsians continuing their fine progress and development.

It is noted that many beginners are passionate about squash but find it hard to assimilate themselves into squash groups that are filled with advance players.
Here are relevant tips that can be found on you-tube for you to start praticising by yourself or a fellow friend of your level.
It is by "expertvillage" covering the full range of squash drills you can do by yourself with audio/visual presentation.
